威廉·夸梅纳-波用水粉画作画, 又称不透明水彩, the same medium used by the late African American artist Jacob Lawrence, 达利等艺术家进行了实验, 毕加索, 克里姆特, 还有许多其他著名的艺术家. His work is done primarily using a dry surface 和 not the traditional wet on wet watercolor technique. As a self taught artist, this technique was developed accidentally. William said he had no idea that in watercolor, sizing (wetting the paper) was important!
目前, his work features mainly Ghanaian fishermen 和 their culture, 市场场景和妇女肖像. The fishermen scenes are embedded with other Ghanaian symbols to further elaborate 和 tell the stories of fishermen 和 their lifestyle. When he was growing up, William’s father, a history professor, wanted me to follow in his footsteps. 最初, he protested vehemently but now he sees his work as a way to tell the history of his people 和 culture with a brush
